RIBA + VITRA TALK: NURTURING SPACES: DESIGNING FOR DEMENTIA

OCTOBER 2022

On the 4th October at London's RIBA Níall and Yeoryia Manolopoulou will present the Losing Myself project, a time-based drawing they collaborated on for the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale, which represented the plan of a building as it may be experienced by different people with dementia. Also talking will be Frank van Dillen, founder of DVA Dementia Village Associates, who will present on the very first Dementia Village in The Hogeweyk in The Netherlands. RIBA FORUM POETRY AND ARCHITECTURE

On the 26^th of May Niall joined architect Will Alsop, and poets Katharine Kilalea and Matthew Gregory at the RIBA for a discussion on whether poetry and architecture can together reveal something new about our contemporary experience of space. How do the two art forms inform each other, and what can poetry and architecture and their intersection tell us about modern habits and habitation? The event was curated by Catherine Hamilton from the arts association Store.  Niall’s piece ‘My Portfolio in Poems’ looked at particular poems that directly influenced his projects.
