On the 18th September Níall and Dr Yeoryia Manolopoulou (Professor of Architecture and Experimental Practice at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London) are giving a public lecture at the British School at Rome entitled On Drawing. Last week, NMLA volunteered in Acland Burghley’s STEAM Day where secondary school students were offered a day of workshops around the subjects of science, technology, engineering, art & maths.
Anne and Eoghan held two-hour long drawing and model making workshops with Y9 & Y10. Students were asked to brainstorm ideas for how their school environment could be improved and were then encouraged to explore architectural proposals through drawing and modelmaking.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day and were inspired by the students’ engagement, creative responses, and willingness to learn modelmaking!
