Níall will be giving a lecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture on Monday the 17th November with responses from Izaskun Chinchilla as part of the Bartlett's Crunch lecture series. The lecture is titled The Practitioner. The seminar series invites international experts to examine and reflect on how architecture can respond to our current 'polycrisis' – a convergence of urgent, intersecting global challenges. Last week, NMLA volunteered in Acland Burghley’s STEAM Day where secondary school students were offered a day of workshops around the subjects of science, technology, engineering, art & maths.
Anne and Eoghan held two-hour long drawing and model making workshops with Y9 & Y10. Students were asked to brainstorm ideas for how their school environment could be improved and were then encouraged to explore architectural proposals through drawing and modelmaking.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day and were inspired by the students’ engagement, creative responses, and willingness to learn modelmaking!
