Tom McGlynn

Director

Tom is a Director at Níall McLaughlin Architects with 25 years of experience in architecture. Since joining in 2014, he has led on a range of projects in the higher education and cultural sectors, both here and abroad. His first project at the practice was for Jesus College in Cambridge, where Tom studied, and he was named RIBA Project Architect of the Year for his lead role. In terms of practice management, Tom oversees profitability and heads up our diversity working group and work experience programme.

Prior to joining the practice, Tom was an associate at David Kohn Architects with responsibility for a wide range of projects in arts, urban design and private housing. Before this, Tom worked on Stirling Prize winning Goldsmith Street at Riches Hawley Mikhail and was a Project Architect at DSDHA where he delivered a RIBA Award-winning special needs school.

Tom studied at the University of Cambridge, the Bartlett School of Architecture and University of Westminster where he qualified as an architect in 2008. He has a keen interest in the links between architecture and music and gave a TEDx Talk on this subject in 2019.
