The T1 building is the first to be built in the Kings Cross Central re-development. It consists of an energy centre, social housing, a high-end leisure centre and restaurant / retail units.

The site is immediately north of St. Pancras International, adjacent to the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link. As the train emerges from the tunnel it starts to pass the long rhythmically undulating façade of shimmering curved glass flutes. The traveller sees the train rippling through the façade as well as pedestrians, cars, signage, stairs, lifts and the paraphernalia of the building wavering and distorting behind the glass. It is like celluloid running through a movie reel. The sequence ends in a matrix of spiralling, descending ramps.
