The
technology college is developed around a collection of existing Grade
2 listed buildings designed by Chamberlain Powell and Bon in the 1950s.
The project is a combination of refurbishment and new build. The intention
is to make new spaces that connect the school buildings to the broader
community. Architectural
Strategy:
1. Enhance the setting of the existing listed buildings.
2. Improve access from the local area.
3. Reorganise the existing buildings.
4. Provide a variety of internal and external spaces so as to stimulate
educational activities.
5. Make the School more open, accessible and legible to the public.
6. Develop the school as an inventive model of sustainable and environmental
thinking.
7. Allow for a variety of intense activities. |
